music in the canyon~in honour of earth day being every day!

paul winter is playing his saxophone
within the walls of the grand canyon
as i stay home on a sunday night
and dream of being there

with my baby grand in tow
oh-- if i managed to get it
there, i'd stay put
within the sedimentary rock

for the rest of my days
i'd play eagerly on the keys
for all of eternity-as mother
earth would wonder, yet love

with her occasional trembling--
at my persistent  style--pushing through
ordinary scaling of rock and tree
father sky would cheer blessed harmony

rain tears of celebration with me-
my improvisations running up and down the key board
as stones skip with joy- down the hard river rock--
then fall willingly--into the old mighty
