bellingham mid-morning blues

the sound of the great blue heron,
as sun emerges from a heavy fog
where mountain peaks were clearly
mist-eries; the softest southwesterlies

gently push the low clouds to the west-
revealing the tops of the rolling mountains,
cool blue damp air lifting,
warmer drier air surrounding-

the blue stone pathway
leading to the east-- the warm
place where surya was born-
the humble base of the douglas fir
